Motivating Third Age Employees

One of the more difficult problems that organizations face is retaining and motivating the highly skilled Third Age employees and executives. Most Third Agers face a large value shift in this stage of life. Often they grow bored and their jobs become stale. There are a myriad of constructive responses that the organization can make to restore motivation and increase retention. However, all too frequently organizations respond by ignoring the problem or, worse, the response is counterproductive. Since we have been working with Third Agers at a deep level about their lives and careers, we have learned a great deal about what works and what doesn't. Consultation is available to Vice Presidents of Human Resources as well as Training Directors on how to structure programs that target these problems so that managers and executives can deal with them more constructively.
