Work with Individuals or Form and Lead Your Own Third Age Discussion Support Group to Help Clients Deal with Third Age Issues
The population is aging and there will be an enormous need for counselors and therapists who understand the issues of this period of life and what to do to help. Also, many "helpers" are entering or have entered the Third Age. They themselves can begin to experience boredom or burnout in their work and need renewal to recover the excitement about life that originally filled their work.
This training will give you the tools and insights you need to create a coaching or clinical practice that includes Third Age clients. Participants will use their own Third Age issues coupled with those of the other participants - by helping themselves and their colleagues they will start the journey to increasing passion, purpose and joy. The training will use interactive exercises coupled with didactic material. It will answer such questions as:
- What is my unfinished business and how do I address it?
- What myths do I have about aging and how can I change them?
- How can I make my practice more enjoyable?
- How can I fill my life with increased meaning and joy?
- How do I discover what is my correct path?
- What is the role of spirituality in working with Third Agers?
- What can I do to join my idealism to others?
- How can I fill my life with deepening friendships and experience more love in my life?
Dr. Peter Brill, one of the Founders of the Third Age Foundation, will conduct the training personally.
